Symbyax Warnings and Precautions

Who Should Not Take Symbyax?

You should not take Symbyax if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Symbyax, olanzapine, fluoxetine, or any of the inactive ingredients used in making Symbyax. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
  • Are taking linezolid (Zyvox®) or intravenous methylene blue. Symbyax should not be started in people taking linezolid or IV methylene blue, but a person already taking Symbyax may be given linezolid or methylene blue, if absolutely necessary, and only with very careful monitoring and only if Symbyax is stopped during treatment.
  • Have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the past two weeks. Also, you should not take an MAOI if you have taken Symbyax within the past five weeks. MAOIs include:
