Seroquel Indications

Seroquel® (quetiapine fumarate) is a prescription atypical antipsychotic medication that is used for treating schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It can be used to improve symptoms of these conditions and help prevent relapses (the return and worsening of the conditions).
 
Occasionally, healthcare providers may also recommend Seroquel for treating something other than the mental illnesses mentioned above. This is called an "off-label" use. Examples of off-label Seroquel indications include the treatment of:
 
At this time, Seroquel is not approved for treating bipolar disorder in children or for treating childhood schizophrenia.
