Some people who take risperidone may be at an increased risk of developing diabetes or seizures. Other precautions and warnings with risperidone include possible drug interactions, the safety of taking risperidone while pregnant or nursing, and the risk of developing a condition involving unusual and uncontrollable body or face movements (tardive dyskinesia). Among the conditions to let your healthcare provider know about before taking risperidone are diabetes, heart disease, and epilepsy.
Any allergies, including allergies to food, dyes, or preservatives.
Also let your healthcare provider know if you:
Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
Are breastfeeding
Drink alcohol.
You should also be sure to tell your healthcare provider about all of the medicines you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
