Geodon® (ziprasidone hydrochloride) is a medication that is licensed for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The medicine, which is a type of atypical antipsychotic drug, works by affecting certain brain chemicals (such as dopamine and serotonin) that may be elevated in people with bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. Geodon comes in capsule form and is available by prescription.

Side effects of this medication can include dizziness, weight gain, twitching, and headaches. To reduce the chances of drug interactions with Geodon, you should let your healthcare provider know (prior to taking Geodon) about all other medicines you are currently taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
