Geodon Capsules

Geodon® (ziprasidone hydrochloride) is an antipsychotic medication often used for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It comes in capsule form and is available by prescription only. Geodon capsules are taken by mouth, typically twice a day.
It is not entirely clear how the medicine works, but it is known that it blocks or lessens the effects of certain chemicals in the brain. These brain chemicals (such as dopamine and serotonin) may be elevated in people with mental illnesses. Although Geodon cannot cure bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, it can help improve symptoms of the conditions and prevent relapses.
As with any medication, side effects are possible with Geodon. Some of the most common side effects that have been reported with this drug include weight gain, drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, and any unusual body movements.
