Geodon and Sex Drive
Geodon® (ziprasidone hydrochloride) is a prescription drug licensed to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Many people may wonder whether there is a link between Geodon and sex drive problems. Although a number of sexual problems have been reported with this medication, Geodon does not appear to affect your sex drive. Sexual side effects may include:
- Impotence (also known as erectile dysfunction, or ED)
- Ejaculation problems
- Difficulty achieving orgasm.
Geodon and Impotence
Impotence is a relatively rare side effect of Geodon. Between 1 in every 100 and 1 in every 1,000 men taking Geodon have reported problems with impotence.
Geodon and Ejaculation Problems
Between 1 in every 100 and 1 in every 1,000 men taking Geodon have reported ejaculation problems. These problems might include delayed ejaculation, changes in ejaculate volume, or even a complete lack of ejaculation.
Geodon and Orgasm
In previous clinical studies, between 1 in every 100 and 1 in every 1,000 people taking Geodon reported an inability to achieve orgasm (a problem known medically as "anorgasmia").
