Depakote® (divalproex sodium) is a medication that is used for preventing migraine headaches and treating epilepsy and manic episodes. The medication is available by prescription, and comes in the form of delayed-release tablets and sprinkle capsules. These forms of the drug have a special coating that prevents the drug from dissolving too early in the digestive tract. Side effects of Depakote may include shakiness, headaches, and weakness.
