Depakote® (divalproex sodium), a prescription medication, is used for treating epilepsy and manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder. It can also be used for preventing migraine headaches. Depakote tablets and Depakote® Sprinkle capsules are delayed-release, which means they have a special coating that prevents the drug from dissolving too early in the digestive tract. Some potential side effects of Depakote include headache, shakiness, and dizziness.
