Vomiting, weakness, headaches, and drowsiness are some of the most common side effects reported with Depakote^® (divalproex sodium). Side effects of the drug are generally minor and, in most cases, don't require medical attention. However, certain Depakote side effects, such as depression and unexplained bruising or bleeding, are more serious and should be reported to your healthcare provider immediately. You should also let your healthcare provider know if you experience something that "just does not seem right" while taking Depakote.
