Lithobid Drug Information
Available in the form of an extended-release tablet, Lithobid® (lithium carbonate) is a prescription drug approved to treat bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression). It is taken twice a day, with or without food.
Some of the most commonly reported side effects of this product include:
- Drowsiness
- Loss of appetite
- Diarrhea.
Although the drug is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable for everyone. Before using Lithobid, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on your medical history and a list of your current medications. In particular, let your healthcare provider know if you have problems such as kidney disease, unexplained fainting episodes, or dehydration.
