Information on Eskalith

People who have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder (also called manic depression) may receive treatment with Eskalith® (lithium carbonate). This medication is available as both capsules and extended-release tablets and is generally taken twice a day. A dose can be taken with or without food, but should be swallowed whole.
 
Prior to beginning treatment with Eskalith, inform your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you have and any other drugs you are taking. Drug interactions are possible, and people with heart disease, kidney disease, or Brugada syndrome, for example, may need to avoid this product or take certain precautions. Having this conversation with your healthcare provider helps ensure a safe, effective treatment process.
