When to Take Abilify

Abilify® (aripiprazole) is a prescription antipsychotic medication approved for treating various mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression. It comes in tablet form and is typically taken once a day. A liquid form and orally disintegrating tablets are also available for people who have difficulty swallowing tablets.

Your healthcare provider will recommend an appropriate Abilify dosage for your situation based on the specific condition being treated, your age, and the severity of your condition. He or she may also provide recommendations on when to take Abilify (some people may need to take it with food if the drug bothers their stomach).

Although there may not be specific instructions on when to take Abilify, you should try to take the medication at the same time each day. This helps to maintain an even level of medication in your blood.
