Abilify 5 mg Tablets

Abilify® (aripiprazole) is an antipsychotic medication licensed for treating schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism, and depression. It is available by prescription and comes in liquid, regular tablet, and orally disintegrating tablet form.
Abilify tablets are available in the following strengths:
  • Abilify 2 mg tablets
  • Abilify 5 mg tablets
  • Abilify 10 mg tablets
  • Abilify 15 mg tablets
  • Abilify 20 mg tablets
  • Abilify 30 mg tablets.
People being treated for depression typically start with either Abilify 2 mg tablets or Abilify 5 mg tablets (one tablet, once daily). The effective dose is usually 5 to 10 mg once a day.
The recommended starting Abilify dose for the treatment of bipolar disorder in adults is 15 mg once daily. For children and adolescents ages 10 to 17, the recommended starting dosage is 2 mg once daily. Your healthcare provider may increase your dose if your symptoms do not improve.
For schizophrenia in adults, the recommended starting dose of Abilify is 10 mg to 15 mg once daily. If necessary, your healthcare provider may increase your dose up to 30 mg per day. For adolescents ages 13 to 17 years old, the recommended starting dosage is 2 mg once daily.
For treating autism in children age 6 through 17, a starting dosage of Abilify 2 mg daily is usually recommended. If necessary, the child's healthcare provider may increase the dose up to 15 mg daily.
