Abilify® (aripiprazole) is a prescription medicine that is used for treating bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism, and depression. The medication works by blocking or lessening the effects of certain brain chemicals that become elevated in people with schizophrenia, depression, or bipolar disorder. While it is not a cure for these conditions, it can help control symptoms and prevent them from returning.
 
Side effects of Abilify can include anxiety, insomnia, headaches, and nausea. Among the conditions that you should let your healthcare provider know about prior to taking this product are diabetes, seizures, epilepsy, and Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.
